Obituary of Bill Seely

It is with great sadness that William Latimore Seely's family announce his passing on Thursday, March 14, 2024, surrounded by love and family at home in Nauwigewauk, NB. Born in Browns Flat, NB on August 9, 1937, he was the son of the late Sylvias and Edith (Mersereau) Seely.

Bill’s career as an iron worker took him to every province other than Newfoundland. He loved to travel, whether it was a weekend trip to Ontario, or a drive across Canada, he loved it all knowing he was going to see family. Travelling the many back roads of New Brunswick with his good friend Del shooting the breeze was always a highlight for him. Bill never missed the Sunday night Golden Oldies on Country Jamboree enjoying the music so dear to his heart. He loved poetry and could recite it at a moment's notice. Whether he was puttering in the yard or garage, hunting, fishing or up at the camp, he loved life and enjoyed his time with his buddies Josh, Dougie and Fred. Memories were made, and lots of laughs were had when they were together. Bill was one of a kind, who would help anyone and will be deeply missed.

Bill is survived by his loving wife of almost 30 years, Gail (Kellar) Seely of Nauwigewauk, NB; sons: Steven Seely (Marg) of London, ON, and Lorne McGinnis (Terrie) of London, ON; his son-in-law Marc Lauzon; Munn step-children: Burt, Doug, Ron and Krista; sister Sylvia Kelly (Gerald) of Abbotsford, BC; sisters-in-law: Carol, Donna, Nancy & Sharon; brother-in-law Wayne. Bill also leaves to mourn many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Bill is predeceased by his daughter Melvina Seely Lauzon; sisters Yvonne, Jenny, Pauline, and Ruth; brothers Johnny and Bunt.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Reid’s Funeral Home (506-832-5541), 1063 Main Street, Hampton, NB. A graveside service will be held on August 9, 2024, at 1:00pm at Cedar Hill Cemetery 450 Lancaster Avenue.
