It is a sad moment to learn that she has gone. To be with those who have passed on before her, she will be welcomed into heaven by their grace and won't be alone.
Wayne and family must go on without her to give hugs but be assured that she cherrished every moment she had with you here and now will join those who will watch over you from above. Keep her close in your heart and her spirit will live on forever.
Her courage was second to none and she has had me thinking of what great strength she showed in preparing all who knew her that she would eventually come to this moment. Thank you Mel
From the bottom of my heart my codolences are out to my step family and family.

There are no words to express how sorry I am to hear of your loss; no words that can help ease the pain and sorrow. My deepest sympathy to Kim and her parents, and to Wayne and the girls.

Quite often when I think of Mel, I remember a day in Grade 7 when I was visiting Mel and Kim's house. I had recently had brackets for my new braces cemented onto my teeth (no wires yet) and I was very self conscious of them. Mel had me over to visit and for some reason a pillow fight broke out (as they do). Someone (Mel or Tammy) hit me in the face with a knitted pillow while I was laughing and the yarn stuck to the bracket on one of my front teeth. When the pillow was pulled back for another swing, the bracket ripped off my tooth and flew across the room. It was both hilarious and terrifying at the same time, and I can't help but to smile when I think of it now.

I'll miss you Melanie, and I'll never forget you.

Finding out this news has deeply saddened me today. Mel was not only a cousin but such an amazing wondrous person. Her life force shining as bright as the sun. Although I did not spend as much time as I would have liked with her, she touched my life with her kindness & in courage all the same. Inspiring me with her positivity & her love for living each day as best as she knew how.
I'm so sorry to her of her passing & wish I could be there in person for this message. Her memories & attitude will live on for me as she reminded me to never give up hope. My condolences go to her girls & the love of her life, as well as here Mom & Dad & siblings

“Wayne, God must have needed a very special angel to have taken Mel so young. Mel was one of a kind, she was so thoughtful , loving ,caring and so much more. The world was a better place with her in it. If anyone ever needed a shoulder to cry on or a pat on the back Mel was there. All that she was going through and she still had time to comfort me. Tianna and Makayla just remember your mom will always be in your hearts and she loved you more than any words can say. When you see the rain it will be your mom crying tears of joy so you will know she is watching over you , the sun will be her smiling down at you, the wind on your face will be her gentle kiss. All this will be your mom's love heaven sent. Granma Ann loves you both. May God Bless all the family and give you the strength to get you through the days ahead . Mel is now at peace as God cradles her in his arms.”

Mel's family:The hardest thing to cope with is never knowing why Mel's life was taken in such a short time.I have wondered so.... So many have said how Mel has touched them, so I wondered why,she left us in such a short time, imagine what she could of done with a few more years .well after all this thinking we know life and death is a mystery,But I understand from all the memories we have of our girl . Mel has done all she could for us, She did it in such a short time, she gave us the foundation to live a life helping each other.she gave us courage to know we can do what we need to. she gave us love so we could have compassion for each other. And in all this her greater lesson for us all,to have faith because that is the only thing to get us thru. That Faith gives us strength to follow thru with all of the above. For her family/friends and even people who never met her.She will always be in our heart .You have so many memories,no matter what you do where ever you are there will be something to remind you of this incredible person.she will be greatly missed.
